The ladder

Weekly leagues, ranked by steps.

Leagues are weekly. Walk more than most of your league and you move up. Steps are the only thing that counts. Not pace, not routes.

The board

The leaderboard.

Your league, live through the week. Steps sync from Apple Health, so the board counts the walking you actually did.

The weekly reset

New case, new league, every Monday.

A new case, a fresh board, a clean slate. A slow week doesn’t follow you. Next week is a new league table and a new murder.

Questions

League rules.

What counts toward my league?

Steps. Your step count syncs from Apple Health, and that’s the only number the board uses.

When does the board reset?

Every Monday at 12:00 UTC. Steps count by calendar day, Monday to Sunday, so your Sunday walk still counts.

How do I move up a league?

Each league is split into groups of up to 30 detectives. At the end of the week, the top quarter of a group (up to 7, and always at least one) moves up a league and the bottom quarter (up to 7) moves down. Everyone else stays put.

Can my friends see the killer if I solve it first?

No. Friends see your progress and your verdict poster. The poster never names the killer.
